Sample Ballots Below

Monday, Jan. 1st, is the first day to request an Application for Ballot by Mail (ABBM) for all elections to be held in 2018.

You may qualify for an Application for Ballot by Mail (ABBM) if the reason for voting by mail is:

  •  65 years of age or older
  • Disability
  • Expected absence from the county
  • Confinement in jail.

Voters who are 65 years of age or older or are disabled qualify to apply for an Annual ABBM.  Choosing the “Annual Application” option ensures that the voter will receive a mail ballot for all elections held during a calendar year.  An Annual ABBM may be submitted starting the first day of a calendar year (January 1st) and not later than the 11th day before Election Day.  The Annual ABBM will expire on December 31st of the year in which it was submitted.

Voters who do not qualify to submit an Annual ABBM may submit an application for a single election starting the first day of the calendar year (January 1st) and not later than the 11th day before Election Day.  If the 11th day is a weekend or holiday, the deadline is the first preceding business day.

You can request or download an application from:

  •  The Texas Secretary of State – (800) 252-VOTE (8683); www.sos.state.tx.us
  • Application Form
  • The Early Voting Clerk in your county – (903) 665-3917

Applications to vote by mail must be submitted by mail, common or contract carrier, fax or email to the Early Voting Clerk in the county where you are registered to vote.  If a voter submits an ABBM via fax or e-mail, the Early Voting Clerk must receive a copy via mail within 4 business days of the submission of the fax or e-mail.

    Send Applications by:

  • Regular Mail, Common or Contract Carrier:

Marion County Clerk, 102 W. Austin St., #206, Jefferson, TX.  75657

  •  Email:  vickie.smith@co.marion.tx.us
